VIOLIN/VIOLA
Megan Scharff
Megan Scharff is a dedicated violin and viola teacher and performer in the Cincinnati area. She is trained in the Suzuki method and teaches both traditional and Suzuki lessons. She is currently finishing her master’s degree in viola performance at the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where she received her bachelor’s degree. Her current and former teachers include CCM faculty and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra personnel. She has performed multiple summers at the prestigious Aspen Music Festival and School. In addition to her experience performing classical music, Megan has performed as a member or guest in various folk, rock, and pop groups, via which she has toured the Midwest and performed at music festivals such as Cincinnati’s own Bunbury Music Festival and Midpoint Music Festival.
Megan’s teaching philosophy is based on responding to each student’s individual needs, goals, and learning styles. She believes music lessons can be a place to develop broadly applied life skills such as creativity, problem-solving, and a solid work ethic, in addition to learning skills specific to music. Megan accepts students on either violin or viola of all ages from early childhood to adults, at any level of skill or experience. |
