Soprano Melanie Woodruff is quite versatile, whether teaching or singing
musical theater, opera, or church music. Currently she gives private lessons
at Milford, Sycamore, Cincinnati Hills, and East Central high schools as well as
at MAC, and is a featured soloist at St. John United Church of Christ in Bellevue, KY.
Most recently, she has performed the roles of Marion in the Cincinnati Music Theater production
of The Music Man at the Aronoff, and sung the Villa-Lobos Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 with the
Cincinnati Youth Symphony. Yet she is equally at home in roles such as Clorinda in La Cenerentola
(performed with the Bayview Music Festival); Gretel in Hansel & Gretel and Musetta in La Boheme
(with Tri-Cities Opera); and Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute (with Cincinnati Opera Educational
Outreach Ensemble in the spring of 2011).
Ms. Woodruff earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and a Master of Music in Voice Performance from Miami University in Oxford, OH.
