YAPP

The Young Artist's Preparatory Program is Cincinnati's premiere youth apprentice program designed for exceptional vocal performers between 15 and 18 years of age (high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors) and taught exclusively through the Musical Arts Center. The nine month program is designed to develop and enhance the individual young vocal performer through improvisation, mock auditions, movement, musical preparation, and dramatic interpretation in a small ensemble setting. Program requirements consist of each member having a minimum of 12 months private vocal study, continued vocal study while in YAPP, and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Auditions are usually held in late summer. The program begins in October and concludes with an annual Showcase in June. Please call the MAC office for information

MACxima

MACxima is the Musical Arts Center's premiere small a cappella ensemble performing Renaissance, jazz, and classical repertoire. The group expects individual preparation of music and insists on personal accountability of all the musicians. MACxima treats every member as a soloist providing them with numerous concert and solo opportunities and the musical experience that only a small ensemble can provide. MACxima's exciting season features a two week tour as well as other numerous concerts and events. There are a limited number of positions available. Auditions are held in the summer and space is limited. Please call the MAC office for information.
