Private Lessons

The Musical Arts Center provides year-round study to people of all ages and musical abilities. The MAC operates on a twelve-month calendar that is divided into four quarters of twelve weeks each. Students can choose to take 30, 45, or 60 minute lessons units. Students will receive a total of 12 lesson units per quarter consisting of either: 1)11 private lessons units and 1 class (master, performance, technique, or recital) per quarter OR 2) 12 private lessons units per quarter.

To enhance private study, students are encouraged to perform in recitals and participate in additional classes presented throughout each quarter. Students are encouraged to attend as many classes as they would like, at no additional charge. Family members are also invited to attend at no cost. Visit the special events page on this site to sign up to attend.

Each student will receive with their quarterly invoice, a copy of their teacher's quarter calendar, and a complete list of all classes being offered during the quarter.

Tuition rates for the Musical Arts Center are pro-rated if a student begins lessons after the quarter has begun. There is also an annual registration fee of $19.00 for each student. Please read carefully our cancellation and refund policy.

Please complete and submit the online registration form to the Musical Arts Center. You will then be contacted to confirm your lesson and your account will be setup in our system. See our Tuition Payment Policy for payment details.

Students will be automatically re-registered for a new quarter unless the Office is notified 30 days in advance. Payment for the new quarter will be billed automatically. If lessons are being discontinued we require a 30-day notice.

Master Class

These classes may include lectures or study of all aspects of playing or singing, including technique, performance and preparation.

Performance Class

These classes may begin with a short lecture followed by a coaching with the teacher and accompanist. There is a focus on performance related issues, such as presenting oneself in front of an audience, but it is not necessary that participants perform a piece.

Recital

These performance opportunities are also a tremendous learning experience for students. Recitals may be considered a cumulative or culminating experience to demonstrate concepts students have learned during their course of study. Recitals are presented in a positive and friendly atmosphere so that students can learn from the experience and continue their growth as a musician.

Technique Class

These classes focus on a particular aspect of technique, giving examples and sometimes referring to hand-outs. Group activities may be included as well as the option for students to perform and work through a piece with the teacher, although an accompanist is not necessarily present.
