Monique Garza

Violin Teacher (Suzuki /Traditional)

Monique Garza has been teaching Suzuki and Traditional Violin with the Musical Arts Center since 2001. A 10-year Suzuki student herself, Ms. Garza received her Bachelor of Music cum laude in Violin Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She is a Registered Suzuki Violin teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas and has taken training in books 1-4. Ms. Garza has also led group string instruction for the Cincinnati Public Schools.

Monique's performance experience includes the Aspen Music Festival Concert Orchestra, Southeastern Music Festival, Richmond Symphony Orchestra (Indiana), the Lebanon Symphony Orchestra, and the Faculty Recital Series at the Musical Arts Center.

Ms.Garza's non-music interests include many years of studying the Mandarin Chinese language, birds (especially parrots), reading, and video/computer games. She lives with her husband and fellow violinist, Tim O'Neill, and their black-capped conure, Piper.
