Mateo Husted, now in his 4th year of teaching at MAC, earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice from the University of Nevada and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Miami University in Oxford, OH, where he also taught private voice to undergraduate theater majors.

As a tenor, his recent roles include Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte, Alfred in Die Fledermaus, and Cassio in Otello. Other roles include Tonio in La Fille du Regiment, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Tamino in Die Zauberflute, and Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore. Last season, he soloed with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra dn worked as a Young Artist with the Natchez Festival of Music. His musical endeavors have taken him to Austria with the American Institute of Musical Studies, where he performed in the operetta and German lieder program. In past summers, Mateo participated in the vocal pedagogy summer course at the Oberlin Conserv atory of Music, studying and working with renown vocal teacher and pedagogue, Richard Miller.
