Strings (Cello, Violin, Viola) - Strings Department
Ellen C. Stephens has been on the MAC Faculty since 2000 teaching violoncello, violin, and viola. Ms. Stephens received her Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from Middle Tennessee State University, and her Master of Music in Cello Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
An experienced music educator in the Greater-Cincinnati area, Ms. Stephens is the Director of MAC Prep Strings, MAC Chamber Music, as well as Head of the String Department for MAC. She has also held the position of Director of the Preparatory Strings Division at Northern Kentucky University, as well as Director of the NKU Prep String Orchestra, NKU Concert String Orchestra, and Assistant Director of the Northern Kentucky Youth Orchestra. In addition, she has served as the Director of the St. Xavier High School String Orchestra and is the Founder of the James P. Stephens Scholarship.
Ms. Stephens’ playing experience includes the Italy Opera Theatre, Lucca, Italy, and Section/Principal Cellist of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, the MAC Faculty Recital Series, and the NKU Faculty Recital Series.
