Voice Teacher
Shawn E. Charton hails from Cabot, Arkansas. He graduated from Oberlin Conservatory with his BM in Vocal Performance in 1997. After a partial graduate degree at Florida State University, he began performing and coaching professionally. In 2004 Mr. Charton returned home to Cabot to help his family and, while there, completed a Master’s of Music in Vocal Performance and a second Master’s in Music Theory – both summa cum laude.
Mr. Charton has performed in London, New York, Washington D.C., Dallas, Atlanta, and Little Rock. His compositions are published by St. James Music Press, Darcey Press and Shurley Instructional Materials. Currently, Mr. Charton resides in Cincinnati where he teaches at the Musical Arts Center and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music Preparatory School. He sings weekly at Lakeside Presbyterian Church and also performs with Vocal Arts Ensemble. |
